The company

Paliero is operated by CEFRHub Technologies Inc., a federally incorporated Canadian company headquartered in Moncton, New Brunswick. The company is incubated at Venn Innovation Garage through the Propel Vision program, an initiative supporting early-stage technology companies in Atlantic Canada.

All Paliero infrastructure is hosted in Canada (Montreal, QC), and the company operates exclusively under Canadian privacy and corporate law.

The team behind the platform

Paliero is built by a team that combines 20 years of professional experience in language assessment across the three main reference frameworks used in Canada — the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR), the Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB), and the Niveaux de compétence linguistique canadiens (NCLC).

The team's combined expertise covers:

• Certified DELF/DALF examination
• Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI) assessment
• Curriculum design for FSL and ESL programs
• Language placement testing for institutional settings
• Educational technology and learning analytics

This expertise is the foundation of every design decision in Paliero. Each feature reflects what professional language evaluators actually do — not what software engineers imagine they do.

Why this matters

Most language assessment platforms on the market today are built by engineers and product managers with limited or no direct experience in language evaluation. The result is software that automates the wrong things, misses the real workflow constraints of professional evaluators, and tries to replace human expertise with algorithms that cannot handle the nuance of productive language skills.

Paliero takes a different approach. We build tools that respect the expertise of the people who use them — because we share that expertise.

Where we are based

Our team is based in Moncton/Dieppe, New Brunswick — at the heart of one of the most active bilingual French/English education ecosystems in Canada. Our infrastructure is hosted in Montreal, Quebec.
